Zhangye Economic Zone Accelerates Major Silicon-Based Project to Drive High-Quality Development

Major projects act as critical 'growth poles' for economic development. The Zhangye Economic Development Zone stresses the building of big projects as a basic job for accelerating development momentum. By establishing a multi-departmental coordinated linkage mechanism, addressing enterprise demands in a stratified and categorized manner, creating a comprehensive 24/7 service network, innovating service delivery, and implementing the 'Four Personnel' escort initiative (service personnel, escort personnel, publicity personnel, coordination personnel), it proactively resolves project and enterprise challenges, fully ensuring the successful launch and operation of projects.
Tower cranes stand thickly on the building site of the Gansu Heihe Silicon-Based New Material Comprehensive Utilization Project, machines roar, and a prototype of a large-scale steel structure intelligent factory has emerged. Workers are busy erecting the smelting workshop's liner plates and the silicoferroalloy smelting electric furnace. This project will require a total investment of 2.063 billion yuan. The project aims to build 10×33,000 KVA mining electric furnaces and produce 170,000 tons of silicon-based products annually, using plentiful local electricity and quartz resources.Upon completion, the project is estimated to generate 2.94 billion yuan in industrial output, 170,000 tons of silicon-based materials per year, 86.3265 million yuan in tax income, and over 800 jobs. This initiative is critical to advancing the silicon-based industry chain within the industrial park.
The overall project progress has now reached 80%, with the completion of civil engineering works for the comprehensive office building and laboratory, as well as foundational work for the underground facilities of the chemical water workshop, boiler foundations, air cooling island equipment, and post-furnace dust removal equipment. We have reasonably scheduled the building timeline, strictly enforced project progress, and aim to ignite and operate the first electric furnace by October of this year. Since the start of this year, the Zhangye Economic and Technological Development Zone has firmly established the concept of 'Project is King,' constantly reinforcing the foundation and optimizing services.It is fully committed to'securing projects, advancing preliminary work, competing for funds, and promoting investment,' closely monitoring target tasks and deadlines, sincerely implementing the 'Five Ones' work mechanism, improving measures, enhancing services, fully leveraging the role of project specialists, conducting daily follow-ups, weekly scheduling, and biweekly on-site office sessions to collectively resolve issues, providing strong service support to accelerat.From January to May, the Economic Development Zone completed 2.78 billion yuan in fixed asset investments, an 86% increase year on year.
