Dalian Heavy Industry Equipment Group recently successfully commissioned its first independently developed sealed DC furnace at the Guangxi Chiji Steel production base, achieving iron tapping one and a half months ahead of schedule and producing 64.46 tons of Manganese Silicon Alloy. After half a month of trial production, the equipment's daily output stabilized at 200 tons, with average daily power usage kept at 3600 kWh/t. Key performance measures, such as element recovery rate, are industry-leading and fully fulfill design specifications. This achievement represents a significant accomplishment for Dalian Heavy Industry in the realm of sealed DC metallurgical furnaces.

According to the introduction, this sealed direct current furnace has three important unique innovations: fully sealed direct current smelting technology, which has produced a direct current metallurgical furnace without fixed anodes, achieving an equipment stable operation rate exceeding 98%, increasing element recovery rate by 3%, and reducing smelting power consumption by 5% in comparison to domestic advanced standards. This is achieved through the development of differential arrangement copper busbar technology and direct current furnace sealing technology.Multi-pulse rectification technology employs a combination of two rectifier transformers and four rectifier cabinets to create an equal 24-pulse rectification system that successfully decreases pollution to the power grid. The twin independent system design is precisely aligned with Guangxi's peak-valley electricity price regulation, resulting in extremely efficient electrical energy consumption. The intelligent control technology includes three control modes: rectifier tap adjustment, rectifier cabinet trigger angle control, and electrode position raising, resulting in a comprehensive intelligent control system. It has a continuous power operation capability and provides zero-load start-up, which considerably reduces grid impact and operational complexity.
